Jaffna Troops Sterilize Public Places to Contain Further Spread

Troops under the Security Force HQ-Jaffna, launching a mega preventive drive on Saturday (18) sterilized a large number of state agencies, hospitals, bus stands, welfare centres, state and private banks, bazaar areas, public assembly points, three-wheeler parks, etc on the guidelines given by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna.

The disinfection arrangement, attended by several Army teams covered Nallur, Chunnakamam, Thirunalveli, Arali, Valikamam, Chankanai, Thelippalai and a few other areas. This was one more community-oriented project, meant to prevent transmission of the deadly COVID-19 virus further in the peninsula.

Meanwhile, Jaffna troops for the second day on Monday (20) continued their sterilization project covering state institutes, welfare centres, banks etc in Point Pedro, Puloli, Vatilaikerny and Mulligan areas also under the direction of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces Jaffna.

It was meant to contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic in the Jaffna peninsula.

In the meantime, troops of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) for the consecutive third day on Tuesday (21) carried out another disinfection programme covering state and private banks, railway stations, rural hospitals, bus stands and common public places in to arrest spread of the COVID-19.
