512 & 515 Brigade troops under the 51 Division of the SFHQ-Jaffna, extending their humanitarian assistance to needy people in Tellippalai and Velani areas and assisted state authorities to distribute ration packs among Samurdhi beneficiaries residing in Tellippalai area and pre-cooked meal packets among the deserving in Velani area on Saturday (18).
On the guidelines given by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, 515 Brigade troops of the 51 Division extended their support to Grama Niladhari (state officials) to distribute those relief packs. Similarly, 512 Brigade troops prepared cooked meal packets and gave away among the poor in Velani area, the same day.
Meanwhile, troops under 52 Division in the midst the fight against the spread of COVID - 19 pandemic,took steps to provide all possible relief to the people residing in Mirusuvil and Eluthumadduwal areas by distributing dry ration packs among needy families. The programme was conducted on Monday, (20) on the directives of the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna.
Meanwhile, troops of 17 Gemunu Watch Battalion under the 512 Brigade organized a programme to distribute 550 prepared meal packs among the families in Velanai area and Analaitive Island in Kayts in order to provide relief during the COVID - 19 pandemic threat.
