Consequent on a request, made by the blood bank of the Kilinochchi District Hospital for blood for emergencies, 3 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops serving under the 574 Brigade of the 57 Division of the Security Force HQ-Kilinochchi launched a blood donation programme on Friday (3) at the battalion headquarters premises in Mankulam.
This programme was launched on the direction of the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Jayantha Gunarathna and under the close supervision of Major General B.P.S De Silva, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division and the Commander 574 Brigade.
The medical team from District General Hospital Kilinochchi conducted this blood donation programme where 64 troops including officers voluntarily gave away their blood to be used in any emergency. bridgemedia | Air Jordan
