A Guard Turnout and a military parade at the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) HQ at Polhengoda, Colombo 5 saluted its new Colonel Commandant, Major General L. P. R Premalal on Wednesday (26) when he arrived at the HQ to take his new office.
The newly-promoted Major General L. P. R Premalal on arrival was welcomed by the Centre Commandant at the entrance before he was greeted in the Guard Turnout. Afterwards, he took the salute of SLCMP troops in the Guard of Honour, presented in his honour. A few minutes later, he signed a formal document in the office and signified the acceptance of the new responsibility in the new appointment.
An all rank tea arrangement afterwards at the mess culminated the day’s programme. Senior members of the Regimental Council, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
