11th Birthday of 65 Division Marked

65 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, raised in 2008 marked its 11th Anniversary with formalities and sports events.

On Friday (27) morning, the anniversary day, a Guard of Honour was accorded to Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 65 Division, by Battalions under the 65 Division.

Later, the GOC was accompanied by Staff Officers to plant a sapling in front of the Headquarter building as a part of the day’s programme.

Then all Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters participated in refreshments, followed by the troop address of the GOC.

Further, volleyball and cricket tournaments were also organized among the troops serving the entire Division to promote cooperation and cohesiveness.
