New Major General A.G.D.N Jayasundera Welcomed in His Regiment

The newly-promoted Major General A.G.D.N Jayasundera of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) on arrival at the MIR Regimental Centre at Dambuluhalmillawewa upon his new elevation was hosted to a customary reception by troops in the Regiment on Saturday (28).

On arrival, Major General Jayasundera was warmly received by Brigadier L. S Balachandra, Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade and Brigadier S J Priyadarshana - MIR Centre Commandant with other Senior Officers and greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance. At first, he paid his respect to the MIR War Heroes' monument in the premises laying a wreath before the MIR-produced second Major General was honoured in a parade, presented by MIR troops in the Centre.
