Commander Switches on X' mas Decorations along Road to AHQ

Adding glamour and colour to the seasonal festivities, the road leading to the Army HQ and the new Army HQ was illuminated this evening (23) for the first time with hundreds of decorative arrangements, including replicas of X'mas trees, decor, mantle, etc with the objective of symbolizing the Army's regard towards religious harmony, peace and reconciliation. Army troops took the lead in crafting many of those decorative arrangements.

At the invitation of the Adjutant General and the Master General Ordnance, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva switched on those illuminations, together with a few Senior Officers. The gesture was launched just a few hours after the Army inaugurated its self-styled 'Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak' mega tree planting drive across the country this morning (23) on a conceptual notion of the Commander of the Army, through which all troops would begin planting saplings of jak, bread fruit, coconut, fruits, etc in their respective regions while encouraging the general public too to follow suit as the troops are ready to provide them with seeds and saplings. latest Nike Sneakers | UK Trainer News & Releases
