New 53 GOC Assumes Office

Major General P. J Gamage, the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) in the 53 Division assumed duties on Monday (16) as its 25th GOC during a simple ceremony at the 53 Division Headquarters, Inamaluwa, Dambulla.

A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour, presented by the 53 Division troops saluted the new GOC, 53 Division during the event.

The newly-appointed GOC, Major General P. J Gamage afterwards signed a formal document to signify the acceptance of the new office before he was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory.
