The Indian tri-service delegation, comprised of 159 personnel after completing their three-day tour in Sri Lanka returned home on Tuesday (18) and the Sri Lankan delegation who visited India also retuned a few hours before Indians left.
During their stay in Sri Lanka, the Indian delegation visited Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala and Sri Dalada Maligawa, Galle city, harbour and turtle hatchery. Similarly, they had a cordial meeting in the ‘Laya Leisure’ at Kukulegaga with the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake on Monday (17) night. The Commander of the Army was welcomed by Major General Jayantha Seneviratne, Adjutant General. An entertaining session provided them with a glimpse of cultural diversity.
Those Indian tri-servicemen with their spouses arrived in Sri Lanka on Saturday (15) on a reciprocal Army to Army expedition which came into effect as a concept of the Commander of the Army.
he Sri Lankan delegation also arrived in Sri Lanka after visiting the sacred Bodh Gaya and its surrounding areas during their stay in India.
