Army coordination with 'MAS Leisure-line' enabled the renovation of the Theresa Amman pre-school and the Pal Nilawu, Kokkuthuduwai - Mullaittivu Pre-schools in the general area of Nayaru served by 593 Brigade troops of the 59 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) and vested them back in kids during a simple ceremony on Thursday (28).
The project received the blessings of Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) and Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division directed Colonel Lanka Amarapala, Commander 593 Brigade to go ahead with the planned renovation with the funds made available by the 'MAS Leisure-line'.
19 Gemunu Watch and 5 (Volunteer) Sinha Regiment troops of the 593 Brigade enthusiastically took the initiative and completed the project within a few weeks. Both buildings were vested in kids again in the presence of about 150 parents and Pre-schools kids, including native villagers who participated in the re-opening ceremony.
Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with Colonel Lanka Amarapala,593 Brigade Commander, Mr Chandana Bandara, General Manager (MAS Leisure Line), accompanied by several MAS Leisure line officials.
