Community Centres & Pre-Schools in Jaffna Get New Furniture from Army

Durgamalai Pre-School at Kodikamam, Kaleiwani Community Centre, Thirumalwar Community Centre and Ligoria Fishermen’s Association in the Jaffna peninsula were among recipients of a large stock of essential furniture, provided under the civil-military cooperation of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) as community-help gifts.

During a simple ceremony, held on Thursday (21) at Durgamalai pre-school, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) gave away 50 desks and chairs to the Durgamalai pre-school, 75 plastic chairs, 3 tables and chairs to Kaleiwani Community Centre, 25 plastic chairs to Thirumalwar Community Centre and 50 plastic chairs to Ligoria Fishermen’s Association as gestures of good community relations, understanding and reconciliation.
