Sinhala & Tamil New Year of 55 Div Ends with a Musical Show

Troops of the 55 Division organized their Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival to celebrate the dawn of the New Year at the 55 Division playground on Saturday (7) under the guidance of Brigadier Jayantha Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division.

All Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks in the Division, under command Brigades and Battalions participated in the event. General Officer Commanding, 55 Division graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Lighting of the traditional oil lamp symbolized the commencement of the day's event. This festival included a variety of traditional/modern games, amusing events and special events for Officers as well.

In the evening, a musical show with performing artistes added colour to the festival.
