Bangladesh Defence Adviser Learns More About Army Roles in Kilinochchi

The Defence Adviser at the Bangladesh High Commission in Sri Lanka, Commodore Syed Maksumul Hakim paid a courtesy call on the Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana on Saturday (17) at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN).

At Kilinochchi Commander’s office premises, a brief on current CIMIC activities in the area was given by the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi. At the end of this cordial discussion, mementos were also exchanged signifying the occasion.

Afterwards, the visiting Defence Adviser went to see the 66 Division Headquarters where he was welcomed by Colonel General Staff, 66 Division, Lieutenant Colonel Eranda Rathnayaka. He explained roles and tasks of the troops of the 66 Division to the visiting Defence Advisor during the meet.

The visiting Bangladesh Defence Adviser enjoyed a simple cultural show in the same evening at the 66 Division Headquarters.

The Defence Adviser visited the 57 Division Headquarters, the following day (18) and learnt more about 57 Division’s roles and tasks.

Finally, the visiting Bangaladesh Defence Adviser placed his comments in the Visitors’ Book.
