Gemunu Watch Troops Entertain Inmates at Orphanage

The Gemunu Watch Regimental Centre at Kuruwita in cooperation with the St Peter’s Church and St Paul Church got a Christmas Carol organized at the St Wind Paul Children’s Home at Ratnapura on Saturday (23) with the intention of sharing Christmas spirits with the inmates at this orphanage.

The sisters of charity, together with Rev Fr Suranga, Parish Priest of St Peter’s Church and St Paul Church, Ratnapura was there to grace the event and read out the Christmas message after a few prayer sessions.

Recital of Christmas Carols with more than 35 children coloured the occasion where Santa Claus went on distributing gift parcels among the inmates. GW troops provided entertainment to the event by providing music and dressed as the Santa Claus. The joyful evening culminated with refreshments, organized by the Regimental Headquarters.

Deputy Centre Commandant, GW Regimental Headquarters, Commanding Officer, Regimental Headquarter Battalion, Officers and Other Ranks were also present during the day’s event.
