SFHQ-KLN ‘Sports & Games Competition’ Sharpens Athletic Skills

The Certificate awarding ceremony of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi organized Sports and Games competition was held in a colourful ceremony at Parvipanchan play ground in Kilinochchi on Saturday (9).

This final certificate awarding ceremony was organized to mark the apex of the five months of competitive sportsmanship among under command formations and battalions of the SFHQ-KLN which showcased their talents against one another.

The Cricket and Tug of War tournaments were organized by the 65 Division under the direct supervision and guidance of General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General Sarath Weerawardhana.

The finals of the Tug of War contest were fought in the presence of the Chief Guest and other invitees during the final day.

Battle PT and Elle tournaments were organized under the direct guidance and instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana.

The final round of the Elle tournament was also played in the Parvipanchan playground on Saturday (9).

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi graced the awarding ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Major General Jagath Gunawardena, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Sarath Weerawardena, General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the event.
