5 More Senior Foreign Delegates Pay Courtesy Calls on Commander of the Army

Senior Military delegates from China, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine who were attending the ‘Colombo Defence Seminar - 2017’ had separate courtesy meetings with the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake on the sidelines of the second day sessions on Tuesday (29) in the VIP lounge at BMICH.

Senior Colonel Guo Xinning, Deputy Commandant, College of Defence Studies at National Defence University of the People’s Liberation Army, Beijing, China, Colonel Adi Ridzwan bin Abdullah of the Malaysian Army, Brigadier Said Bakheet Masoud Tabook of the Oman Army, Commodore, Khalid Ayed S Algathani of Saudi Arabian Army and Colonel Oleh Hulak of the Ukraine Army during their respective separate courtesy meetings with the Sri Lankan Commander of the Army, exchanged views on matters of bilateral interests and the future of military roles of the Security Forces at global level.

Those foreign delegates spoke high of the arrangements of the Colombo Defence Seminar and thanked the Sri Lanka Army for organizing it to suit academic and intellectual standards. They also pointed out that the Defence Seminar in Colombo has carved a niche for itself in the global calendar of military events as one of the most educative and informative annual forums.

Towards the end of interactive meetings, the Commander of the Army as the host of the Colombo Defence Seminar presented tokens of appreciation to those delegates.
