Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) recently joined hands together to launch a one-day Shramadana campaign at Military Hospital in Colombo.
The SLLI and SLNG have undertaken the maintenance of the Ward Eight at Military Hospital on a regular basis and the campaign was meant to paint beds, lockers, etc., and make the place neat and tidier.
Army Seva Vanitha members led by Mrs Sharee Mallawaarachchi, Mrs Priyadarshani Rathnayake and Mrs Premani Weerakoon were also associated with the occasion.
Each patient in the ward received a parcel of sweets gifted by Seva Vanitha members who also inquired into the health of patients while wishing them speedy recovery.
The SLLI and SLNG spent over Rs. 100,000/- for the project through their Seva Vanitha units with lavish contributions received from both Regiments.
