Welioya Camp gets new buildings

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shantha Kottegoda was recently at Welioya Army camp on the invitation of Major General P.S.B.Kulathunge, Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) where he declared open a new building complex for the use of soldiers serving there.

The complex consists of a large number of most wanted housing and other units in the camp. The inauguration commenced following a religious observance performed by Ven Kudahalmillawe Rathanasara Thero, Chief Sagha Nayake for Padaviya, Welioya and Hurulu province

Major General P.S.B.Kulathunge, Brigadier S.A.G Sooriyaarachchi, Director Engineer Services, Senior Officers and a representative gathering of soldiers were in attendance at the brief function where Army Commander Lt. Gen Shantha Kottegoda symbolically cut a ribbon and declared the building complex open for use.

Lt. General Kottegoda after a brief speech on the occasion planted a tree sapling in the premises to mark the occasion.
