Parallel to the 2004 National Tournament of the Practical Pistol-shooting, the Golden Eagle Pistol-shooting Tournament got under way at Ganemulla Commando Regiment shooting range during 29-31 October 2004.
The Army shooters representing all Regiments took part in Open Events, Standard Events, Production Events and Ladies Events (open) while vying with others for supremacy. Their tough resistance to its rivals was seen a big challenge in the tournament.
Major S. J. N Ritigahapola won the second place in the Single Open Event whereas Sergeant K. Podimahattaya (second place) and Major H. P R Handunpathirana (third place) showed their colours in the Single Standard Event.
However, Corporal Pathmasiri and Warrant Officer W. Chandana emerged victorious in the Single Production Event securing 1st and 2nd places respectively.
