Inter-Regiment Athletic Meet of the Artillery Regiment was held at Sugathadasa Stadium recently for two days.
Eight Regular Units and two Volunteer Units participated in the athletic meet. Out of those ten units, 6th Artillery Regiment became the first in order of merits scoring 215 points. 7th and 4th Artillery Regiments were adjudged 2nd 3rd runners- up respectively.
Nearly 480 sportsmen from 10 regiments represented 25 athletic events creating a couple of new records.
Sergeant PAMARASEKARA was adjudged the most talented sportsman in the Meet.
Sergeant ANURADHA INDRAJITH KURE was selected as the year's best sportsman.
Former Chief of Defence Staff General LP BALAGALLE was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
