UN Secretary General Kofi A. Annan in a special message of condolence and appreciation on the death of Sri Lankan Army's Lance Corporal H. H. M Wijesingha while serving UN peace-keeping contingent in Haiti on 20th March 2005, has requested UN ambassador in New York to convey Secretary General's appreciation of the services rendered by him for UN efforts to promote peace in Haiti.
