“IMPAKT aid” provides stretchers to the Army hospital

“IMPAKT aid,” an organization, established recently to assist tsunami victims, has come forward to donate a stock of portable stretchers and spray machines to the Military Hospital, Colombo, worth over Rs 300,000/= (US$= 3061) as a gesture of goodwill to the Army.

The stock was received by Major General (Dr) K. Dudley P Perera, Medical Adviser to the Army who took the initiative on behalf of the Army from donors, Mr Jorry Porodo, Dr Asoka Thenabandu and Ms Kumudu de Costa of “IMPAKT aid” who symbolically presented them to the Major General Perera.

Major General Perera, hailing their concern for the Army thanked the donors and assured that those items would also be used in other military hospitals elsewhere in the country.

A brief meeting to this effect was held at the Army Headquarters this morning (7th March). The Commanding Officer to the Military Hospital, Lieutenant Colonel K.P Sumanpala was also present at the occasion.
