MONERAGALA: THE BUTTALA-KATARAGAMA main road was re-opened for traffic at about 2.00 p.m. as inducted troops and Police personnel circled the affected areas in GALGE and commenced combing operations following the fire attack on the passenger bus this morning (11).
Several isolated Tiger terrorists now loitering in the jungles off GALGE after infiltrating from the east directed a rain of bullets on a passing KATARAGAMA bound bus killing four passengers including one twelve year old child and injuring twenty-five others. (See day's separate News Highlights)
At the initial stage, only three passengers, mother, her son and another woman died in the firing. But another seriously injured man succumbed to injuries at HAMBANTOTA base hospital while he was subjected to urgent surgery.
Following injured passengers are receiving medical treatment in hospitals.

Several more seriously injured are yet to be identified.
