COMMANDER OF THE ARMY Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka flew to Vavuniya Thursday (10) morning to meet Wanni ground commanders in order to assess the security situation in the area.
Army Commander was received by the Commander Security Forces Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) Major General Jagath Jayasuriya who briefed him the security developments in newly captured areas. Army Commander assessed the security measures in operation in Divisions and Brigades after listening to briefings respective Commanders.
A few Senior Officers of the Army Headquarters joined the Army Commander on his Wanni visit.
