Musical extravaganza thrills participating trainees

(Reporting directly from Kukuleganga)

All foreign participants as well as soldiers of all ranks at the MPE-3 \"Sama Gamana\" at Kukuleganga, after the inauguration ceremony on Saturday (12) were entertained to a culturally-rich Musical Extravaganza inside the main Dining Hall, the same day evening.

Dance performances presented by lady soldiers of the Sri Lanka General Services Corps, no doubt, in their full regalia fascinated the audience to the rhythmic beats of the Army's oriental band, which was well rendered with their classical flavour of music.

The Army Band (oriental) with its skilful musicians drew an enthusiastic response from the audience as they began to pass slips written with their favourite hits, for example, many a Hindi number.

A toast was raised to the good and successful conduct of the MPE-3 during the musical session which was witnessed by a packed audience who joined vocalists by clapping.

Brigadier Srinath Rajapakse, Director of Training, in a brief to the occasion, extended his best wishes for the participants and the conduct of the MPE-3, stressing the need to broaden our understanding in implementing the training sessions.
