A group of designate Ambassadors and High Commissioners for Sri Lanka, who are currently on a familiarization visit to the north visited the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday (29) as a part of their orientation programme to receive a first-hand experience before taking office overseas.
The 22- member delegation, led by Mr. M.R. Kiegel, Director, Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute, was welcomed by Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN at the SFHQ-KLN premises.
Major General Ranasinghe then gave a detailed analysis on the post-conflict peace building activities carried out by the SFHQ-KLN and multi faceted development projects, of the government in the SFHQ-KLN area of responsibility.
On Tuesday (30) the diplomats visited the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) where they were welcomed by Major General Nandana Udawatte, Commander, SFHQ-J on arrival.
Brigadier D.S. Weeraman, Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-J educated the visiting delegation on the roles of the Army in post-war Jaffna including welfare and community-centered projects to uplift education, health and economy of the needy people of Jaffna.
