Major General Sumedha Perera, Commander Security Force Headquarters- Central (SFHQ-C) made his first visit to the 12 Division Headquarters last Thursday (11) after he took office as Commander of the SFHQ-C a few months ago.
In accordance with military formalities, a Guard Turn Out presented arms to the visiting Security Force Commander at the entrance to the Headquarters after he was received by Brigadier W.N.M Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division.
Later, a tree sapling was planted by the visiting Commander to mark his tour to the 12 Division.
Senior Officers of the Brigades and Units assembled at the Division Headquarters to have a cordial chat with the new Commander before discussing administrative matters, pertaining to the troops, serving the Central Province.
Thereafter, he addressed all ranks who had gathered there to listen to him.
The day’s programme ended with visits to 14 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 18 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) camps on the same day.
