Kilinochchi Women Educated on 'Personal Hygiene'


To coincide with the ‘World Mother’s Day’ (May 10), the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) took an initiative to organize a medical clinic for women at the Harmony Centre, Kilinochchi.

The arrangement, in collaboration with the Kilinochchi General Hospital, was actively coordinated by woman soldiers of the 6 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC).  

A total of 200 women in the age range 16 - 45 years, including pregnant mothers in the area first listened to a lecture on ‘personal hygiene’, delivered by Dr. D. Vinodan, Chief Medical Officer for Kilinochchi and afterwards attended an interactive session.  

Brigadier M.P. Wijesundara, Deputy General Officer Commanding, 57 Division attended the event as the Chief Guest.

Commanding Officer, 6 (V) SLAWC, Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-KLN and other ranks also participated in the programme.
