President Lauds Sri Lankan Contingent's Service in Nepal


HE the President Maithripala Sirisena, together with the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe in a special felicitation ceremony on Monday (18) at Temple Trees, recognized the invaluable contribution of the Sri Lanka’s Rescue & Relief contingent to Nepal.

The ceremony headed by the President, was attended by Tri-service Commanders, four civil medical consultants and the full contingent, awarded mementos of recognition to Tri-service Commanders and all contingent members.

Major General Maithri Dias, Commanding Officer of Sri Lankan Contingent at the beginning of the felicitation ceremony presented a multimedia account and explained the attendees about the roles and tasks that they carried out while serving Nepalese victims during a period of 16 days.

President Maithripala Sirisena lauded the Sri Lankan Contingent and expressed his gratitude for the best performance in Nepal and congratulated them on their achievements. The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude and congratulated the contingent.
