With the motive of enhancing reading habits and educational interest among children and youngsters in Kilinochchi area, the International Rotary Club (District 3230) of Chennai at the request of the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), donated a stock of 500 reading books on a variety of subjects to the Harmony Centre library in Kilinochchi on Tuesday (5).
The donation was coordinated by Mr. K. Kandaraj, a businessman in Colombo.
The book collection, which were in both English and Tamil languages, largely is made up of biographies, story books and educational books.
Brigadier M.D. Wijesundara, Deputy General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Commander, 571 Brigade, Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-KLN, Mr. Dhanavantry, Project Manager of International Rotary Club (District 3230) and members of the Rotary Club attended the event.
