59 Division New GOC Takes Office

Brigadier L.M Mudalige, on Tuesday (7) assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC), 59 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) during a simple ceremony.

In accordance with military traditions, Brigadier L.M Mudalige reviewed the Guard Turnout on arrival at the premises to be welcomed by senior officers of the 59 Division. Afterwards, a Guard of Honour, presented by the troops of the 59 Division saluted the new chief of the 59 Division.

A brief religious ceremony invoked blessings on the new office of Brigadier L.M Mudalige who symbolically placed his signature for a formal document to signify the acceptance of the office. Planting of a tree sapling and a tea table culminated the inaugural ceremony.
