Civilians affected with various eye ailments and other vision deficiencies in the 111 Brigade area of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) had the rare chance of getting treatment during an eye clinic, organized by the 22 Sri Lanka National Guards (SLNG) on Saturday (28) at the Lakshapana Army Camp, Kandy.
Commanding officer of the 22 SLNG took the initiative for this meritorious act. Mr. Vipula Baranage coordinated the event with the assistance of Sassari Optician, Dodamgahahena, Gonegamuwa.
The team of optometrists including, Dr.Mallika Nanayakkara screened those who came to the clinic and directed them for necessary treatment. 214 civilians received spectacles during the day free of charge.
