Troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) and Forward Maintenance Area-Mullaittivu (FMA-MLT) conducted Buddhist observances with a Bodhi Pooja and a Buddhist sermon to mark ‘Duruthu’ Poya Day at Muladeepa Temple at the SFHQ-MLT on Sunday (4).
The programme was conducted after observance of religious rites and rituals. Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT took part in the event as the Chief Guest.
Commanders of the SFHQ-MLT and the FMA-MLT and a large gathering of military personnel were present at the religious observances to invoke religious and spiritual blessings organized at the outset of the New Year 2015.
The 7 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) supported the participation of Ven. Levke Gnaneswara Thero of Sri Buddarakkitha Buddhist Training Centre at Galkadawala in Anuradhapura at the event.
