Troops of 57 Division under Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday (22) joined together celebrating Christmas with Christmas carols rending the air during a programme at theNelum Piyasa auditorium, Kilinochchi.
The programme, organized with the objective of promoting religious reconciliation and peace among all communities in Kilinochchi area was attended by a gathering of civilians.
The ceremony started with reading of the Gospel in two languages. The programme consist of delivery of the Christmas message, illumination of the Christmas tree, Christmas carols in Sinhala and Tamil and Christmas dance.
Meanwhile, troops distributed Christmas gifts parcels among all children who attended the event and later offered a delicious dinner to all participants.
National Christian Assembly, CSI Church, St. Theresa Church and the Anglican Church participated in the Christmas carols.
Rev. Ft. Anton George, Rev. Ft. Daniel Moorthi, Rev. Ft. Solaman Dickson, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, school children and a large number of the general public participated in this festive programme.
