Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) organized a blood donation camp to fulfil the requirements of the Mullaittivu Hospital Blood Bank at the Main Dressing Station, 68 Division in Puthukkuddiyirippu on Tuesday (9).
On the directions of Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, Dr. Rajitha Sirwardhana and the staff of the Mullaittivu Hospital Blood Bank, conducted the blood donation camp with the full support of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 68 Division.
Soldiers of several Battalions and Brigades under 68 Division and 3 civilians donated 189 pints of blood to the Blood Bank at a time the Mullaittivu Blood Bank has run short of blood, required for the patients waiting to undergo urgent surgeries.
