‘Paabala Mela’, the flagship annual event of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), slated to collect funds for welfare projects of the SLLI War Heroes, families of fallen or missing War Heroes and disable ones is now underway at Hikkaduwa on a grand scale to match with festive season and the forthcoming New Year.
This annual event with all entertaining features and a chain of stalls that market household items was opened by Major General Amal Karunasekara, Colonel of the Regiment, SLLI on Friday (19) as the Chief Guest. Major General U.A.B Medawela opened the mega event on Monday (22) as the Chief Guest.
The event culminates on Tuesday (23).
