Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ – E) conducted many community based projects in the past week.
Three ‘Shramadana Campaigns’ were organized by 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) deployed at Thiriyaya in the 221 Brigade of 22 Division, to clean the coastal area of Nilaweli in Kuchichiweli, Kuburupiddi Gandinagar area Trincomalee and Nawachcholei Preschool premises in Kuburupiddi during November 24-26.
In the meantime, same troops delivered lunch packets and dry ration packs on Friday (28) among the families affected by heavy rains.
Meanwhile, troops serving the 232 Brigade of 23 Division arranged a special boat service to assist the general public living in Kiran-Pulipanchikal area as the road was inundated due to heavy rains.
Troops serving the 5 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and 27 Sri Lanka National Guard of 222 and 224 Brigades of the 22 Division launched two separate Shramadhana campaigns to clear the main drainage system of Mandalagama village in Serunuwara and the Nagathambiram Kovil premises at Karakamunei during November 27 -28.
