UN Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Director Meets Kilinochchi Commander

 
With a view to receiving an update on multi-faceted community services and development projects, being carried out by the troops in the Security Force Headquarters- Kilinochchi  (SFHQ-KLN) a visiting  UN delegation  in Sri Lanka  called at the SFHQ-KLN on Thursday (30).
 
The 2 member team,  Mr Edward J. Flynn, Junior Adviser on Human Rights UN- CTED, Mr Philip J.B Divett Representative/ UNODC, met Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN and discussed the roles and tasks being performed by the troops for the betterment of the civil community and empowerment of women in the area.
 
Major General Ranasinghe gave a briefing to the UN delegates on various projects that have been launched on behalf of the civilians of the Killinochchi. After exchanging mementos, these officers, visited Hasalaka Gamini Memorial, Uniankulam  Civil Defence Force village, Senehase Thotupala Railway station , and  a few other places.
