Kaddaikadu Fisherfolk Get 'Deepavali' Gift

 
Troops of the 55 Division under Security Force Headquarters Jaffna (SFHQ-J), together with 3 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC), following requests made by fisherfolk in the area,  constructed a guiding Light Tower, close to the Kaddaikadu junction in Jaffna.
 
With the blessings of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J, 3 SLSC troops with the help of raw materials provided by they themselves, built this much-required light post with close supervision of General Officer Commanding, 55 Division and its troops.
     
This erection to be used by fishermen at sea would help them to locate the area as a navigational aid since the area did not supply any signal for those fishermen who make a living by catching fish.
 
Rev. Fr S. Sadis of the Area Diocese, 3 SLSC officers and other ranks of the 55 Division were present at the simple opening ceremony on Deepavali Day (October 22).
