Children &;amp; the Blind Provided Incentives in Jaffna Orphanages

        
The Nivarthana children’s home in Kaithady, thanks to the efforts of the Commanding Officer, 16 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) of the 523 Brigade under the 52 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), received a much-needed washing machine for the use of children at the orphanage.
 
It was formally handed over to Mr. Visbvaruban, Commissioner, Probation and Child Care North Province by the General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Major General Priyantha Jayasundera on Thursday (16).
 
The machine, worth about Rs.35000/= has been donated to Lieutenant Colonel Janith Bandara, following a request he has made to a friend of his in Colombo. On the same day (16), 18 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops of Navathkuli gave away gift parcels to all 42 girls and boys, living in the Nivarthana Children’s Home. Simultaneously, 18 GW troops entertained 25 visually handicapped civilians living in the Kaithady Home for the Blind.
