Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) organized an educational trip to Shallativu beach for 65 students and 8 teachers of Rahunuketa Vidyalaya to mark the World Children’s Day on Wednesday (1).
23 Army personnel participated in the administration duties during the educational visit and they provided foods and gifts to the picnic-goers.
Meanwhile, troops of 221, 224, 231 and 233 Brigades under the 22 and 23 Divisions in the SFHQ-E conducted social service programmes to mark the World Children’s Day on Wednesday (1).
15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops meanwhile organized a ‘Sharmadhana’ campaign to clear the surroundings of the Children’s Park, Kinniya and donated school accessories to Abdul Malak Najrin, a poor school girl, who is studying at Grade 4 in Al Insabiya Vidyalaya, Kinniya. In the meantime, they provided lunch, donated school books and showed a children’s movie to 50 children in Vijitha Vidyalaya and Singithi Pre-school in Gemunupura area.
12 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops provided tea and biscuits as refreshments for 70 handicapped children at ‘Mencafe’ Orphanage, Thirayamadu and school amenities and refreshments for 38 pre-school students in Batticaloa.
9 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops provided lunch for 40 students at Madurankarnikulam pre-school, Koraleipattu North. Troops from 8 GW distributed school amenities among 31 students at Mawadimunmari pre-school, Manmunei, Southwest.
