Different Divisions and Brigades serving the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) on account of Esala Full Moon Poya Day (July 12) conducted a number of meritorious programmes by way of distribution of free meals, refreshments, drinking water to drought-hit areas, Bodhi Poojas and donation of school items among students.
Those occasions took place at Tissapura Agbopura Rajamaha Vihara, Thambalagamuwa, Seruvila Mangala Maha Viharaya, Mihindupura village and Alamkulam Arayamilawanan pre-school during July 11 - 12 to mark Esala Full Moon Poya Day.
Meanwhile, SFHQ-E assisted education authorities in Pudunagar and Batticaloa by coordinating the dispatch of lecturers for conduct of seminars on psychology and science for the benefit of students sitting the GCE A/L in August this year.
12 Gajaba Regiment troops supported 1 programme at Kalladi Vigneshwara School in Pudunagar and 233 Brigade supported the two-day lecture programme on science at Swamy Vipulananda Music College, affiliated to the university.
More than 700 students participated in both programmes at Puthunagar and Batticaloa.
