Under the disaster mitigation project of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), troops serving 10 Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) during March 4-11 organized several awareness programmes on “Risks of land mines” in 55 Division area.
Those six programmes, were conducted with the participation of 130 teachers and 1566 students in the area.
The programme was launched with the intention of preventing the public from accidents that could be caused by mines and explosives.
Meanwhile, 521 Brigade recently organized a special meeting, headed by Mr Ganeshamoorthy, Assistant Director Fisheries between fishermen and officials of the Department of Fisheries and Water Resources.
The programme aimed to proved solution to the difficulties and problems that fishermen face.
