With the coordination of the ‘Pragna Pradhana’ programme, troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), organized a ceremony to distribute school accessories to 500 school students, living in Mullaittivu area.
Rev Father Roshan Wickremasinghe, Rev Father Gamini Perera, Mrs Shirani Wickremanayake, all three from the ‘Pragna Pradhana’ project along with a few of their organization, took part in the distribution ceremony.
On a suggestion made by Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, SFHQ-MLT to the said project, the donors came forward to extend their sponsorship, worth about Rs 1.5 million as children in this area lack these basic requirements for their schooling.
Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, SFHQ-MLT as the Chief Guest, together with General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, 683 Brigade Commander, 5 Sri Lanka Signal Corps Commanding Officer, 7 Gemunu Watch Commanding Officer attended the distribution ceremony with sponsors of the event.
