One hundred Tamil families, resident in Kilinochchi (35 families), Mulankavil (35 families) and Poonaryn (30 families) received 100 cattle to the value of Rs 1.8 million, following arrangements organized by Ven Dr Omalpe Sobhitha Thero of Bodhi Raja Foundation’ at Embilipitiya.
The project, aimed at raising economic standards of the people living in Jayanthinagar, Udayanagar, Malayalapuram, Kalmadunagar, Vishwamadu, Dharmapura, Mankulam, Murukandi, Nachchikuda, Akkarayam, Selvanagar, Thirunagar, Ponnagar, Awaniyapuram, Poonaryn, Pallikuda, Shivanagar, Urthipuram, Ponnaveli, Jayapuram, Karachchi, Periyaparanthan and Maduvilnadu areas, was launched at the invitation of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN).
Distribution ceremony was witnessed by Ven Dr Omalpe Sobhitha Thero, clergy of Hindu and Catholic faiths and several senior officers.
