Army Woman Cricketers Play with Their Wanni Counterparts

Sri Lanka Army Women’s cricket team, Anuradhapura Shakthi Sports Club, North Central women’s cricket team and Northern women’s cricket team competed in the Murali T-20 Women’s Cricket Cup 2013 in progress at Vavuniya Tamil Maha Vidyalaya Grounds. The tournament began on Friday (1).

Thanks to the sponsorship of Gunajaya Sathuta Foundation, the tournament was made possible under the guidance of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Wanni who expects to promote goodwill and understanding among players of different ethnicity.  

The tournament also expects to select the best woman cricketers who can be brought to the national level, judged by their talents.

The finals will take place on Tuesday (5).
