New Zealand Expatriates Help 'Abimansala - 3'

Adding symbolic significance and importance to the Army Day (October 10), United Sri Lanka Association of New Zealand (USLANZ), comprising Sri Lankan expatriates, made a donation of Rs 7 lakhs towards the Seva Vanitha Army Branch’s (SVAB) ‘Brave Hearts’ project, engaged in the construction of ‘Abimansala – 3' (wellness resort) for dependent War Heroes at Pangolla, Kurunegala.  

On behalf of the USLANZ, Dr Ranathunga Kalupahana met Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army Thursday (10) at his office and handed over the donation to the Commander of the Army.

The upcoming ‘Abimansala - 3’, the sanatorium-type wellness resort that would accommodate a group of about 50 - 55 North Western Province-based dependent War Heroes who need 24 hour caring and nursing for the rest of their lives due to their disability, consists of all therapeutic equipment, sanatoriums, villas, cottages, swimming pool, library, recreation hall, etc. 

Dr. Kalupahana extending his best wishes on the project handed over the money to the Commander of the Army to be given to the SVAB’s ‘Brave Hearts’ project. Major General R.A Kaduwela, former Chief Signal Officer was also associated with the occasion.
