Major General S.W.L Daulagala on Thursday (19) assumed duties as new Colonel of the Regiment, Gajaba Regiment (GR) at GR Headquarters in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura in addition, to his current appointment as the Director General General Staff (DGGS) at Army Headquarters.
A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Saliyapura premises greeted him in accordance with military traditions. Afterwards he made a brief address to the troops and signed the visitor’s book before placing his signature for an official document to signify the acceptance of the new appointment.
An all rank tea party at the premises brought the day’s ceremony to an end.
