8 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops of 231 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E), conducted an awareness programme on electric flashes which is used to scare away wild elephants in Irunovil village area. Meanwhile 12 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops conducted a Dengue prevention programme in Chenkalladi Hospital.

In another event, troops of 221 and 222 Brigades distributed 100 gift parcels among pregnant ladies in Kantale area. This donation was done with the collaboration of the Lions Club Gonapola. Meanwhile 22 Division troops conducted a medical clinic at the Gomarankadawela School. Over 1000 villagers in the area were benefited from this clinic.
