More than 580 school children from Kebithigollewa Maha Vidyalaya, Padaviya Mahasen Vidyalaya, Jayanthiwewa Vidyalaya and Sampathnuwara Maha Vidyalaya were screened for eye infections and eye sight during eye clinics held at those schools.
The arrangement organized by Vavuniya-based 62 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) was sponsored jointly by Prof Nandadasa Kodagoda Foundation and AHH Organization at the invitation of the 62 Division Headquarters.
A seven-member team of medical officers headed by Dr Nalin Gunasinghe examined those children in separate school premises during June 17 - 22. Those having eye defects were referred to further medication and use of glasses.
